SimpleDirect® is an independent Canadian AI lab in Toronto. Vinci names our AI research, models, technologies and products. We advance and apply artificial intelligence to difficult problems for small businesses, enterprises and public institutions.

SimpleDirect® is the organization; Vinci by SimpleDirect is the family of research and technology it develops. Our operating company is Alpine Pacific Trading Inc., based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Public model pages connect Vinci releases to their model cards, foundations and licences.
- Research pages preserve methods, results and limitations, including findings that did not support a hypothesis.
- Canadian identity describes the organization. It does not establish government endorsement, customer deployments or Canadian data residency.
Distinguish model foundations from specialization.
Our released models build on existing open foundations. Canadian specialization and post-training are different from pretraining a foundation model from scratch. Each artifact page names its upstream lineage.
- Vinci Cyber focuses on defensive cybersecurity tasks such as infrastructure configuration review and remediation.
- Vinci MLE focuses on machine-learning engineering; a valid held-out ML-engineering task evaluation was not completed for MLE 1.0.
- Check each release rather than assuming every Vinci model has the same capabilities, licence or maturity.
Build domestic capability through inspectable work.
Language-model research, evaluation and verification are part of the Vinci direction. Published artifacts make the work more concrete than a general claim about Canadian AI.
- Start with the model registry for available weights and release-specific disclosures.
- Read research reports for the exact experiment, comparison and unresolved questions.
- Self-hosting can give an operator more deployment control. Hosting location, logs and connected services still determine where data travels.
